There can be several means by which the release components can be developed. In case the change is small (as agreed in the
Service Governance Plan), the Delivery Team can adopt the Maintenance Change Request Management process to realize the
change and build the release components. If the change is large, it should be treated as a separate development project.
The Delivery Team would then adopt an appropriate software engineering method (waterfall, agile, etc.) along with Unified
Project Management (UPM) method, to develop the change. In certain cases, the task of developing the change may be
outsourced to a third-party vendor. A Release Package may be composed of a combination of such components. Therefore, the
Release Manager along with the Change Coordinator, must coordinate with the appropriate Delivery Team to ensure the
development of the release components (change) is progressed as per schedule and specification. |
